I recently had a friend go there, and she asked me for some references as I had been back in November 2014. I Was only there for a short while as we went to 3 cities in one weekend but my sister has a good friend who's lived there for over a year teaching at an American school. I asked her for suggestions for my friend. This was her suggestions. Milan is not super touristy, but it’s still a fun city to see…especially for drinking, eating and shopping!

Touristy stuff:

—Duomo (you can also go up and see beautiful views of the city…there is also a museum downstairs)

—Galleria (right next to the Duomo but don’t go eat there it’s overpriced and touristy…just walk around)

—Sforza castle (also check out Sempione Park right next door)

—Last Supper painting (but you need to buy tickets way before)

Great neighborhoods to check out:

—Navigli (beautiful canals and great places for food and drinks)

—Sempione (right by the park are a bunch of awesome places for apperativo)

—Isola (one of my favorite places to go for bars and food….bit more hipster and low key)

—Brera (super cute little neighborhood)

—Corso Buenos Aires (good for shopping)
